Towers and Trucks

We took a hike on Labor Day and discovered an old stone tower.  People aren't quite sure what it was used for but some say it was used to mine coal from the mountain.  This is located in Stony Valley.  There is lots of history here and if you would like to go to the website for more info click HERE. It was 2.5 miles up the mountain.  We had to follow the red blazed trees to know where the trail was.  The creek at the bottom had so much moss!  I've never seen so much thick moss in one place.  The pictures can't really show how much there were but it was pretty amazing.

Faith and I take turns riding along in the feed truck with Daddy on Saturdays.  We both took pictures and thought you might like to ride along with us.

Oh, by the way, Karl met up with a couple of rattlesnakes...ahem...so we quickly left and headed back down the mountain!

When I went our first stop was at an Amish farm.

Then we went to a pig and sheep farm.

At the next farm, the wife had a business of selling fresh cut flowers.  There were flowers everywhere.  It was beautiful!
