What is Karl and Faith up to? I guess you'll find out at the end of this post. ;o)
We went on another canoe trip on the Swatara. Wow! It was so exciting! I couldn't get pictures of the most exciting happenings because it all happened so fast! Karl sliding down the mud bank and falling in the creek....Queenie falling overboard from the canoe....trees over the creek and having to go under them....pretty good rapids and beautiful scenery! (and an extra passenger that we only discovered at the end of the ride!)
Beautiful Mountain Laurel!
Can you see the ducks? They blend right in with the scenery.
Poor Queenie finally back in the canoe.
She lost her balance and fell right in the creek!
Just made it through a downed tree!
That was rough! (but exciting!)
Queenie and I were the lookouts for rocks and downed trees.
After 4 hours of canoeing, we made it to our stopping spot.
Well here is our unwelcomed extra passenger! When Karl drug the canoe up the bank, he saw this spider was in the canoe! Yikes!
One evening, Queenie discovered this little 'possum hiding under the woodpile.
Karl and I enjoy hiking on Sunday afternoons. There are hiking trails at the Swatara State Park which is where the creek is located that we canoe. Here is the road that goes into a parking area.
We canoed under this bridge a week earlier.
I like to use a hiking stick when I walk. My brother, Billy, gave each of us hiking sticks made from cedar trees. I had fun carving and wood burning on them.
Faith and I made a boardwalk through the woods to our house.
The animals are enjoying their breakfast!
Faith made some really good fudge! Chocolate!! Yum!
Hannah gave us some pinto beans that they grow in Arizona.
They tasted so good!!
Queenie was happy to find out that dogs are allowed to shop at TSC!
Are you ready to find out what Karl and Faith were up to?
They were building a pen for some special feathered friends that came this morning!
We got Rhode Island Reds and Speckled Sussex chicks.
They included one free exotic breed...does anyone know what it looks like it might be? It's gonna have feathers on its legs and feet.
Faith is still crocheting....wonder what this is going to be?
Hope your having a happy summer like us!
