"Oh, mama, what a great time we had!"

Hi this is Faith.
This past weekend Mama Eagle went off to sunny Arizona and left me and my dad home alone.  While she was gone, I had a great time   at our State Farm Show, the rodeo, shopping at Cabela's, and a hockey game.
At 9:30 sharp on Friday, Nathan and Laurisa picked me up to head to the Farm Show and rodeo.  We arrived at 10:00 for some Farm Show fun.

Lunch time for the baby pigs.

I think one truck is enough Nathan.

Can't go without getting free ice cream and tea.

The duck slide always draws a crowd.

Taking a break to watch the cow show.

It was neat to see the carriages get driven.

 Say Hello to Mr. Alpaca.

 Poor mommy goat!

This is some stuff made from alpaca wool.

 Aren't these stuffed alpaca's cute!

Every year the farm show makes a butter sculptor.

 Look at those Mushrooms!

At the farm show there is A LOT of samples of food.

 Some alpaca wool.

While we ate our lunch we watch the tractor show.

Look at the size of that pumpkin.

Someone did an AMAZING job on these gingerbread houses!

I thought that is little guy was cute. He is made out of pine cones.

Mmmmmmm Milk Shakes!

 This wooden bike is cool!

That is one big sweet potato! (Nathan photo bombed)

It's Rodeo Time!

Ride him cowboy!

On Saturday morning me and dad headed to Cabela's.

Hello Mr. Fish!

It's HOCKEY TIME!

Let's Go Bears!

And they SCORE!

Hershey Bears won 6-4 Woohoo!

I sure had a blast this past weekend but I was really glad when Mama Eagle came back home to our
Eagles Nest!

Then when she gets done with them, having all their fun, when they're get down kind of low, she runs and spreads her big wings and all of them just a rejoicing, the convention's over. And they—they set their little beaks back on her wings and like this, "Oh, mama, what a great time we had." And she takes them right down to something new again. Sets them down in a great big green place. They've never had their feet in them places before. So they jump off and just have another jubilee. And they're just there picking just as carefree. And when she gets through, she flies way off to a great high peak, and there she sets watches over them little eagles. Oh, woe unto a coyote that would ever come around. No hawk had better not try to do anything. For she's watching over her own."

Surprises

Due to technical difficulties, I haven't been able to post in quite a while.  I finally got some pictures uploaded and we're ready to share what we've been up to here at the Eagle's Nest.
First there was a "surprise" birthday trip to see my mom on her 70th birthday, then we "surprised" Queenie with a 'queen sized' doggie bed, and then there was a "surprise" on our hike through the snow. Oh and what about  the "surprise" announcement from somebody.....

We surprised Mom....she had no idea we were coming.

Antique shopping with Grandma

Games with Grandpa

Grandpa's Game

We surprised them with early Christmas presents.

I was surprised at all the canned goods that Mom had done!

We surprised Grandma with a visit.

Faith got to see Queenie's brother at my brother Billy's.

He surprised Faith with baby bunnies!

Billy made his front gate so cute!
when you open the gate it makes these gears go around and the birdies come out to greet you.  Also there's a dog on top of the gate that wiggles and wags its tail.
He also has an eagle and a cross mounted on the front.

Queenie surprised us one day with 2 exploded pillows in her dog house.  So we decided to surprise her with a "queen size" mattress!

We stuffed the stuffing from the exploded pillows
into a Mark Hershey feed bag and sewed it shut.

She LOVES it!

We went hiking one Sunday
and got to see a very interesting surprise!

It's not surprising that Faith found a friend....

It is kind of surprising to find
an old apple stuck on a branch in the middle of the woods....

But what was more surprising
was the bear tracks in the snow!

And now for the most exciting surprise.....

Hope you enjoyed seeing our surprises as much as we did!

"The thing surprises me is the grace of God." I said, "I have exhausted His mercy many times, but I never can exhaust His grace, and I'm so glad of that."
